Mary Mattie Francis Napier Hawkins

Mary was the wife of Thomas (Walton) Hawkins and the mother of many children and grandchildren. Recently, DNA analysis revealed that Mary's maternal lineage can be traced to Sierra Leone, a country in Africa. Remember the movie "Amisted"? These dapper gents are first cousins and both reside in Huntsville, Alabama. Larry is the son of Johnnie Mae Sales. He has been in construction since 1976. Larry sings with the male chorus at church and reportedly has an excellent singing voice. Jarvis is the son of Charity Lewis. He is a team leader at Cimarron Software in Huntsville.

These beautiful sisters are the daughters of Minnie Sales. Johnnie Mae retired in 1994. "I'm used to working hard all of my life." She is the mother of 5 children whom she raised almost single handedly. Charity has worked with Benchmark for 30 years in electronics. A recent stroke survivor, Charity continues to be a "Child of God." Both ladies enjoy going to church and grocery shopping.

Carolyn Lassiter, Gloria Griffin, & Pearlie Sales

Pictured are sisters Carolyn and Gloria with their cousin Pearlie. Carolyn is the mother of two, Edward Jr. and Noralyn; she is the wife of Edward Sr. Gloria is the wife of Anthony Griffin. Carolyn and Gloria are daughters of Eulah Brooks. Pearlie is the daughter of Minnie Sales, a descendant of Oliver Walton. Pearlie has two sons, Christopher and Dave. She works in electronics and as a hairdresser.

These are the daughters of Horace Cooper Hawkins. Renee has recently relocated to Texas with her husband, James, and their family. Donna resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with husband, Neil, and their boys.

This up and coming young man is a recent addition to the fair city of Montgomery, Alabama. He is a freshmen at Alabama State University where he majors in Business Management. Thomas enjoys computers and is an accomplished welder. Thomas hails from Detroit and has enjoyed meeting many of his relatives for the first time. He is the son of Thomas & Theresa Hawkins, grandson of Willie Lee Hawkins. Thomas was named after his great grandfather.

Parker Lee is the eldest son of Barbara Hawkins and the late Robert Lee Hawkins. P.L. & Diann are the proud parents of three sons, Cedric, Corey, and Craig. P.L. is an avid sports fan and Diann enjoys sewing and her 5 grandchildren.

Robert and Katie are the parents of 6 offspring. Robert has a strong devotion to family, spending most of his free time caring for his mother, Barbara, of Leighton, AL. He is employed with GM. Katie is a domestic engineer known for her kindness and willingness to help others.

The McCollins Family

Martha Hawkins Smith and niece.

Martha is the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Nancy Sharper Hawkins. Born in Leighton, Alabama, Martha is a long term resident of Detroit, Michigan. Martha is known for telling it like it is and is a great source of family history. She is a mother and grandmother of five.

Dorothy Hawkins

Dorothy is the daughter of Willie Lee and Nancy Sharper Hawkins. Like many of her brothers and sisters, Dorothy resides in Detroit. This photo was taken at the 2002 United Family Reunion in Toledo, Ohio.

Craig is the son of Parker Lee and Diann Hawkins. Craig was first called to the ministry in 1998, preaching his first sermon on June 7 at his home church, Mt. New Home. Craig attends Hermitage Bible College. Ardree is a supportive friend of Craig and the Hawkins family.

The Oldest Living Walton

At the tender age of 92, Josephine Robinson Mullen of Leighton, Alabama, is the oldest surviving Walton. She is the daughter of Sadie and Nellie Graham Robinson. Josie has a quick wit and a beautiful smile. She lights up when she talks about her uncle Robert Lee and Grandpa Tom.

Richard & Mary Ingram Bates

Mary is one of thirteen children born unto Leotha and Alice Walton Ingram. Richard and Mary reside in Leighton, Alabama. The Bates, along with several of Mary's siblings and in-laws, operate a restaurant called Alice's Place named for their mother. (I know first hand that the food is excellent and the prices reasonable!)

Roric and Cheryl were recently wed in San Antonio, Texas. Roric is the son of Alfornzia and Patricia Gill Hawkins. Roric and family reside in Washington, D.C. where he serves as a captain in the Army. He is a graduate of Tuskegee University with a degree in nursing.

Walton Matriarch: Julia Walton

It can truly be said that Julia is the mother of us all. Julia and William head the Walton family. Together, they had seven children. The above picture is actually an artist's rendition of Julia. This family heirloom belongs to Barbara Hawkins.

Dennis is the son of James and Viola Meeks Walton and the grandson of Thomas Walton Jr. After several years of lost contact with their Walton relatives, Dennis and his family were the first of the Los Angeles relatives to be found in this research.

David is a descendant of Frank Tuck. He and his family reside in Alexander City where David is a correctional officer. Here David has just received recognition as "Man of the Year". David can take responsibility for the organization of the 2000 United Reunion.

Columbus & Eulah Walton Brooks

Eulah is the daughter of Freeman and Evlyne Walton. She celebrated 60 years of marriage to Columbus before his death in 2003. Eulah has served as a valuable source of family history. She currently resides in Huntsville, AL along with several of her children.

In October 2002 Wade and Tiffany were married in Mobile, AL where they currently reside. Wade is the son of Tommie and Wyominia Hawkins Croone of Leighton, AL. Wade and Tiffany are graduates of the University of South Alabama.

Erica is a native Californian born in Los Angeles to Eric and Patricia Walton Webster. Erica currently lives in Washington, DC with her husband Earl Lindsey and their three children.

First Cousins Meet for the First Time: Angela and Leon Jackson

Although these two had spoken on the phone, they met for the 1st time in 2003. Angela is the daughter of Thomas and Brenda Walton Jackson. Leon is the son of Earnest and Tommie Bass Jackson. Both Leon and Angela reside in Atlanta, GA and participate in the United Family Reunion Planning Committee.

The early life of Thomas Hawkins continues to be a mystery. The 1910 census shows Thomas Hawkins living with his brother Freeman Walton in Leighton, AL. Thomas is rumored to have fathered over 40 children. Ben Parker is the father Barbara Parker Hawkins, the daughter-in-law of Thomas Hawkins.

Some things in life remain constant. Anna was beautiful back in the day and she is beautiful now. At age 64, Anna is conquering new ground by surfing the internet and researching the Napier family tree, the descendants of Mary M.F. Napier. She is also a talented writer. Anna is the wife of Eugene Williams and resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is the daughter of Marvin & Bulah Hawkins McCray.

Barbara Parker Hawkins of Leighton, Alabama

Grandma said to tell you all she is doing "very well" if any one should ask. Barbara is the widow of Robert Lee Hawkins. She celebrated her 84th birthday on August 3rd. Barbara is a library, an excellent source of information regarding the family. Barbara doesn't ask for much, just a few flowers and a little company. Give her a call to say hello.

We all need to have whatever he had! Look at his face! He is lit up with laughter and excitement. With that smile the world needs to be put on notice. This future doctor or President is the son of Eugene Williams, Jr. and the grandson of Anna M. Williams. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.

No, but a child named Destiny. Ms. Destiny Williams is the daughter of Eugene and Stacy Williams, Jr. This little princess resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. Destiny represents the future of the Walton family. Her name means a predetermined course of events. For Destiny, that course will lead her to do great things.

Robert Rueshell and Carolyn Hawkins of Decatur, Alabama

Why choose this picture when there were several photos of them available? Simple. This picture speaks volumes about a couple that has been together for almost 12 years. The hallmark of this couple is that they are not afraid to take chances. They live and they love. These are two people that I would not hesitate to call friends.

Robert Lee Hawkins

More affectionately known as Granddaddy, Robert Lee Hawkins is the son of Thomas and Mary Hawkins. It is his stories about his childhood and family that inspired research into the Walton family. Granddaddy kept close contact with several family members until his death in 2001. Though Granddaddy is gone, his legacy lives on. We miss you.
