| I like so many Walton's have made an effort more recently to trace Family lineage. My father Leadis Walton(who has sinced past in OCT 2003) was born in Americus GA in 1927 and his father Arthur Walton left Georgia when my dad was very young. The story according to my Grandmother was that Arthur was a musician and traveled north some say the Detroit area and was killed. My father was an only child as far as I know and likewise I am. My father moved from Americus around the age of 6 and he and my grandmother resided in Asbury park New Jersey before moving to Connecticut. I was raised in CT but never had the opportunity to visit Americus because my father so despised the south he never went back in 70 years. |
