2009 Application
The United
Family Scholarship

The United
Family Scholarship is a financial reward for excellence in
scholastic achievement and community service. The recipient of this
scholarship must be a descendant of the United Family:
Frank Lindsey & Lizzie
Glenn
including
Allen & Lucinda Glenn Vines
Preston & Nancy Glenn Monticure
John & Nora Glenn Davis
Frank Tuck &
his wives,
Arrena, Emma Wright, & Dora Wright including

Burney Walton
A descendant is
defined as an individual born to the family or a person who is not a
blood relative but was ¡ˇăraised by¡ˇŔ a descendant.
In other words, this is the closest person to a
parent/grandparent they have known. This may include the children
of a spouse.
The applicant
must be a high school senior who has been accepted into college,
trade school, or technical school. If there is more than one
applicant, the Scholarship Selection Committee will choose the
recipient based on the submitted information. The Scholarship
Selection Committee is an independent group of college graduates,
often Master¡¯s prepared, with no familial tie to the United Family.

The recipient
of the 2009 scholarship will be announced on this website in early
August 2009. The 2009 United Family Scholarship application and
instructions are available by clicking the links at the top of this
webpage.
To receive full
consideration for this award, the application must be completed and
returned along with your acceptance documentation, listed
extra-curricular activities & honors, handwritten essay, and letters
of recommendation by the postmarked date of
Sunday, May 31, 2009.
